Aromatherapy

Essential oils are commonly used as Aromatherapy. Sometimes called Essential oil therapy. It enhances physical and emotional health and improves the health of the body, mind, and spirit.

The most important aspect of aromatherapy is its potential to reach and penetrate in subcutaneous tissues. Their effects are subtle due to chemical properties and complex structures. Essential oils work by having integration into receptor cells in the nose. When inhaled, the signal is transmitted to the hypothalamus and limbic parts of the brain via the olfactory bulb. These signal will tell the brain to release neuro messengers ( they are seven “small molecule”) like serotonin, endorphin, etc. that plays a role in emotions, behaviors, sense of smell and long term memory.

A calming oil, euphoric, and stimulating oil releases these neuro messengers that give an effect on the mind and body.

Essential oils are incredibly potent-that can be a great addition for your hair, skin, and healthcare collection. Aside from using as Aromatherapy, it can be used as part of holistic healing like:

Topical use

Essential oils can be used topically in a replacement of your lotion. The potency of oils can be a cause of skin irritation. It is advised to dilute it with carrier oils to lessen the potency according to the skin reaction after the patch test.

Massage

Essential oils are useful to massage your body. It gives relaxation to the tired muscle after a whole tiring workday.

Keynote to remember!

*Always do a skin patch test before applying to a larger part of the skin.

*When applying topically, use a carrier oil such as jojoba oil (this is my recommended oil because it does not go rancid), fractionated coconut oil, or sweet almond oil.

*Essential oils shouldn’t be taken by mouth because of its toxicity.

*Pure essential oils contained health benefits and relaxation effects. It’s different from fragrant oils that are used in soap making and don’t give any health benefits

I’m an EO user. But I’m careful to only get the ones that I trust. I am a YL subscriber, but I do appreciate Plant Therapy and DoTerra. Yes, you can estimate quality through the extraction method and quality of sources used.

Lavender and eucalyptus oil, adding with lemongrass are my favorite essential oils. I can’t live without them!

I am not a big fan of essential oils but I support and believe that it has a good therepeutic effect in our body. It has a lot of uses and the essential oil industry, it’s business and benefits are growing everyday! maybe in 5-10 years from now it could be use to cure diseases.. who knows?

I really would not call myself a fan of essential oils but I acknowledge that they provide benefits in alleviating certain discomforts, such as allergic rhinitis in my case. I have a friend who has an essential oils business (super affordable) and I bought my immune booster from her. I really like it.

Ever since my sister (or was it my mom? haha) introduced me essential oils… I’ve been hooked! I love dabbing essential oil to my head when I get migraine or to my skin when I get insect bites. They indeed have so many benefits and uses! 🙂

Lavender essential oil really helped me to sleep better, not only that it truly reduce stress. I also put essential oil on my temples whenever I have migraine. Really, really useful

I don’t know about the antibacterial part… but I do know that when I smell a blend of oil that has a strong lavander dose my anxieties go away, I get to sleep better and do better… I guess it is cause lavander oil is a relaxant? 🙂

We are all getting to a place in time where we all need to relax more since our work literally requires more from us even when we are just inside our homes and essential oils really do help us a lot. It does not only refresh our homes but our minds and our senses as well! Thanks for the tips on how to find my own essential oil 🙂

I only have Lavender oil which we are using as aromatherapy before going to bed, it really helps me to have a better sleep, and what I like is that my son sleeps earlier because of this. I didn’t know that EO can also used in laundry, will do that too 🙂
